Becky Wilhite shares the position of Minister of Music with Ann Thomas at Clarksbury. She has

served as pianist since 1985 and as choir director since 1998. For many years, she taught the Sonshine

Choir, children’s choir, and youth Sunday School class. Music has always been a large part of her life.

since singing and playing at the little white church of her childhood. She taught elementary music in

several schools for 33 years and sang with the Tuneful Teachers, an a Capella group of singing teachers,

for 25 years raising money through CD sales for their scholarship fund.

Becky graduated with a B.S. in music education from ODU, but also attended Longwood College.

She then taught in Norfolk Public Schools, Ware Academy, Gloucester Public Schools, and ended her

career at home in Middlesex County Public Schools. Many students and productions later, she retired in

2016 to spend more time with her husband, Don, who retired from his construction business.

Her family is the joy of her life. Her daughter, Melanie, is a first grade teacher, and her grandson,

Christopher, is an engineering tech, both proud graduates of the College of William and Mary. Also, her

son-in-law, Doug, and daughter, Barbara are a wonderful addition to the family. Barbara will be leaving

to major in music in the fall. Becky is blessed to still have her mother and many other relatives in her life.
